Lobang Buaya Selected for BIFAN 2026, Hanung Bramantyo Brings Indonesian Horror to the Global Stage
Hanung Bramantyo’s latest film, The Hole, 309 Days to the Bloodiest Tragedy, which will be released in Indonesia under the title Lobang Buaya, has secured a spot at one of South Korea’s prestigious genre film festivals, the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFAN) 2026.
The selection marks a significant achievement for Indonesian cinema. The film’s international journey previously began with its world premiere at the International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) 2026, one of Europe’s most prestigious film festivals.
Following its screening in Rotterdam, the film that produced through a collaboration between Adhya Pictures and Dapur Film, has once again drawn international attention. The Hole has been selected for the B Extreme program at BIFAN 2026, a category known for showcasing films that offer bold and unconventional approaches to genre filmmaking.
